Monumental - lamps like monumental architectures

On the occasion of the 14th Venice Architecture Exhibition, Massimo Gardone’s imagery delivers Monumental, a collection of photographic images that offer an original reinterpretation of some classics by Foscarini. The Guggenheim Museum, imposing water tanks, high voltage pylons and hanging bridges shape alternative universes, marked by neat lines and neutral, hazy backgrounds.
Monumental dresses Foscarini’s lamps in a new light, creating architectures endowed with an intense yet abstract personality. Akin to imposing structures that design new urban spaces, these lamps become unusual interpretations of the concept of metropolis.
The exhibition, curated by Artemio Croatto – Designwork, is presented at the Bookshop Arsenale – Venice Biennale, from 7 June to 23 November 2014
