Visitor Experience

‘Advanced & Clean Manufacturing' visitor experience: a showcase of new methods of industrial production for visitors and potential tenants of this state-of-the-art manufacturing complex.

I took responsibility for both script / storyboard development (working alongside industry experts) and 3D design.

Together with a small team presented a final proposal for a space that paired a working production line with interpretive AR overlays for industry guests, and a complementary immersive gallery space for the lay visitor. An elevated deck runs through the space offering multiple visitor journey choices and overview opportunities. The scheme was also designed to function beyond this remit, with event, offices and educational spaces.
The next pages are intended to highlight conceptualising, sketching, scriptwriting, storyboarding, planning, visualisation & animation abilities.

Early on we proposed that the tall, wide but shallow building would present circulation issues without intervention. Inserting an elevated gantry gave us options for visitor movement, it allowed us to exploit the triple height to create drama, and gave opportunities to stage-manage  visitor attention. This sketch captured many of those principles early on.
