The Barbie doll has brought up a whole generation of fashionistas.
But style is not the only thing that this doll has influenced. The Barbie doll was a reflection of the American Dream not only for Americans, but especially for Russian people.
Growing up, these little girls unconsciously transferred their vision of beauty and sweet life into their own lives. Their goal was to have as many stunning, colorful clothes and shoes as their dolls, to have the perfect man who looks like Ken, to have a beautiful country house and to make their hobbies some of the most expensive: horse riding, surfing, golf.
On the one hand, these goals helped girls achieve a new level of life, on the other, they destroyed the nervous system of those for whom it was more difficult to face the harsh reality.
They changed their real life and real emotions for wonderful soft dreams, in which it is always safe.
