Came upon this fascinating agave at the gorgeous UTEP (El Paso TX) campus which has outstanding landscaping in addition to its architecture. I've always loved agaves, but one needs to be very careful around them as the leaves and needles are quite dangerous! Ths is the most common variety of agave here in the desert southwest (US).
