Design of the official match kits | CE Sabadell FC

I present the design project of CE Sabadell official match kits, made for the 2022-2023 season, in collaboration with sports brand Hummel.

Centre d'Esports Sabadell Futbol Club, a.k.a. CE Sabadell, is a Spanish football team based in Sabadell, a city in the province of Barcelona in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Founded in 1903, it plays in Primera División RFEF, holding home games at Estadi de la Nova Creu Alta.

The side has competed in national leagues since 1928, gaining its first promotion to the Segunda División in 1933 and then the La Liga in 1944. Sabadell's longest spell in the top flight was from 1965 to 1972, and their most recent from 1986 to 1988. They have reached one Copa del Rey final, which they lost 3–0 to Sevilla in 1935.

By historical standards, CE Sabadell FC is the third best club in Catalonia, after FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol.

I have been involved by the team board for the third consecutive year in the design of the game kits. For the 2021-2022 season, it was decided to let fans choose, via a social media survey, both the design of the home and away kits, from 3 options for each kit.

I then created various design proposals for the club, from which 3 home and 3 away options were chosen to be submitted to the final vote.

These were the winning outgoing proposals from the contest.

Home Kit

The home kit features the classic "arlquinado" design, which continues on the sleeves and on the back, leaving a white squared space for the nameset. Smooth pinstripes have been added to give this jersey more classical look and elegance. It features the flag of Sabadell city on the back, under the shirt collar.

Away Kit

The kit for away games is neon-yellow and black. It wants to keep the "arlquinado" theming, but in a more funky way, using a gradient made of smaller squares. Like the home kit, it has a big square on the back to contain the nameset and it features the flag of Sabadell city on the back, under the shirt collar.
