Palace of Justice Vienna
During my visit to Vienna, I also visited the beautiful Palace of Justice. The building was built from 1875 to 1881 in the neo-Renaissance style and has since experienced very eventful times. Among other things, it was set on fire during a demonstration in 1927 and fell victim to bombings during World War II.
Until 2007, the Palace of Justice Vienna was extensively renovated. Particularly worth seeing is the three-story central hall with its glass roof, open staircase and monumental marble statue of Justice. Above it is the Imperial Austrian coat of arms with the symbols of the Houses of Habsburg, Lorraine and Austria.
Here are the seats of the Supreme Court, the Higher Regional Court of Vienna and other institutions.
From the panorama terrace of the Justice Café you have a great view of the city center and the surrounding buildings on the Ringstrasse.
