This project arises as a reflection on our relationship with the landscape; we are permanently surrounded by immediate stimuli and we lose sight of essential aspects that are hidden in the distance and require a new perspective to become evident. The proposal intends to be an invitation to change the point of view and reveal a new panorama, previously hidden.
It is articulated by means of a large wall 14.5 m long, which draws a line between the vineyard and the road as a seam, as a starting point and a visual barrier between one side and the other. At first glance, the long sculptural element that can be seen in the distance becomes a milestone, a point of reference from which we push the visitor to discover what nature is hidden behind. When approaching, on the east side of the wall, a small staircase is proposed that allows one to peek to the other side and elevate the observer to recognize the vineyard from a new plane. Likewise, a view is offered towards the surrounding landscape, the Ebro river and the Mantible bridge, which are hidden in the foreground view.Ā
For the structure we propose a 50 cm wide wooden wall and a 60 cm staircase, both stiffened with 7x5 cm wooden slats. The intervention aims to generate a space without depth, a simple scenery that allows us to recognize our surroundings before proposing any intervention, to work with existing resources and understand to influence the territory.
