"Reinventing the Wheels" Conference Branding

The national Meals on Wheels conference takes place every year in August. Recently there has been a lot of leadership change and new directions for the nonprofit organization.

This year is the organization’s opportunity to unveil the “new association” to the membership - this has been visualized in the change between new and old - a dynamic diagonal line that tilts the landscape upwards. If you go in for color psychology, the color yellow is connected with creativity, optimism and confidence. Member programs are going to need change their mindset to survive and this visual treatment lets them know that you’re there to lead them in reinventing their future for success.

This system is highly versatile and creates a unique visual system that can be carried out in a variety of ways. The worn photo treatment on the left represents the old, nostalgic ways of doing and thinking, the napkin on the right suggests the creative brainstorming and forward thinking that will be required in order to flourish.

In graphic treatments of the conference wordmark, the caret and inserted text serve as a reinforcement that shows we’re in the process of reinvention rather than all the way through it. This proof reading reference positions this a participative conference rather than a didactic one.
