I first lay down the bare bones, broad strokes.
Now I go into details. Fine tuning and correcting anything I come across that doesnt feel right.
This is time consuming, since 90% of lines are made individually (to save time I copy some of them)
All the while I am checking how the whole piece looks at various distances (this helps me create fake grays)
Once I am finished with the center piece I shift focus on background .
Sometimes I struggle on what kind of bacground to use, I dont want to over-do it, and I dont want to make it look poor.
Hence...
...I do several ideas/revisions.
Once setled on a background I detail it and make so as not to take away from the center piece.
