A photograph I took last winter on a holiday to Hokkaido was featured and published on National Geographic's "Daily Dozen".

The "North Sea Road" is the literal translation of Hokkaido (北海道). This province in Japan is famous for the harsh long winters and harsh terrain full of mountains. Skiing down from the summit of the Mount Yoichi early in the morning with clear skies and untouched powder is one of the greatest ski experience for me. The photograph was taken facing north, towards the small town of Otaru and Sapporo Lake.
