Who are we?
Riso Comic is creating comic fanzines as a student community since 2020 under the roof of Dokuz Eylül University Fine Art Faculty in İzmir, Turkey. It all started when our university decided to purchase a Riso Printer for a project. Alp İz, who is a student in Illustration and Printmaking department, along with friends, decided to use this opportunity to create a series of comics which will be printed using Risograph technique first created in Japan. With love for experimental printmaking and comics, Riso Comic grew as a community and included work from students from diverse departments. After publishing a 10 part fanzine series, Riso Comic Extended was born. Which included new artists from the Grafik Topluluğu (Graphic Community) Student Club. And then, artists Alp İz and Nermin Yağmur Erman came together to create a spin off series, using the Riso Comic name and technique, named “Dishing Out!”. This was not the only spin off project in the Riso Comic Fanzine Group, as brothers Kaan Gül and Hakan Gül explored using the manga style with Risograph techniques in “Yolumdaki Işık”. Riso Comic is still creating as a free fanzine group which everyone with a love for printmaking and storytelling can participate in.
Dishing Out!...What is “Dishing Out!”?
The adventures of Dishing Out, whose greatest pleasure in life is making music together, are with you. Moreover, this passionate adventure was drawn by two illustrators; Nermin and Alp. Nermin accompanies you until the middle of the story. They introduces us to the band members who are sincere. Then an 'ADVENTURE' awaits you. Alp takes over the second part and we witness the beginning of a legend... Enjoy your reading.

Çizgi Festivali 2022 (Istanbul/Kadıköy)
We participated in the Çizgi Festival organized by Kadıköy Municipality Cartoon House. We had the opportunity to introduce the fanzines we publish and produce to many people. We established a dialog with writers, illustrators and editors. We met 'Belalım', another fanzine group that produces like us. This event was a turning point for Riso Comic.
