Vigeland Sculpture Park

Vigeland Sculpture Park
The Vigeland installation (Norwegian: Vigelandsanlegget) is located in the present centre of Frogner Park (the actual name of the park). The sculpture park has more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) in bronze, granite and cast iron. His realistic work represents the cycle of human life and all its emotions.
The Angry Boy (Sinnataggen)
Vigeland was also responsible for the design and architectural outline of the park, which is the largest sculpture park by a single artist in the world and one of Norway's top tourist attractions, with more than one million annual visitors.
The Monolith (Monolitten)
The Wheel of Life (Livshjulet)
Vigeland Museum
Vigeland also convinced the City of Oslo to build him a home and studio, where he lived and worked for the rest of his life. In return, he promised to donate all his works to the city in the future, and indeed after his death, his home was turned into the Vigeland Museum.
The museum's collection comprises Vigeland's early works, his portraits and monuments, as well as plaster models for the sculptures in Vigeland Park.
