QUESTION #1
Can users easily organize and access content in Evernote?
OPPORTUNITIES
How do users stay organized and access things?
Evernote's initial screen was similar to other note-taking applications, with a clear and simple list of notes. However, users were looking for a more efficient way to identify what was important and get to it. Some Evernote users created a welcome page from a blank note to display recent notes, shortcuts, images, and other tools.

In 2020, Evernote also introduced new features to increase productivity, such as a new task management system and calendar integration. The new home page was a unique opportunity to showcase different types of content and make them accessible from one place.
___

Home puts relevant information at your fingertips, making it easy for you to onboard, access content, and feel organized without the effort.

___
During the project, the team went through different research rounds to validate:
  -  If using widgets was the right approach to showcase the most relevant features in Home.
  -  The most valuable widgets for users. To achieve this goal, we brainstormed and tested different types of widgets to identify some preferences.
  -  How users perform simple/complex tasks in Home.
  -  Customization options for the Home layout.

The most preferred widgets were Recent Notes, Quick Note, and Shortcuts, which became our starting point for creating a widget set that can be customizable according to the needs of each user. We finally introduced Tasks and Calendar widgets, based on the work of our product designers Natasha Noltimier and Nancy Phan.

Widgets width can adapt to one, two or three columns so users can customize their own Home layout.
