Fairater (fair-ah-tur) is a SalamanderAxolotl, and a Thermace fish combination that lives near hydrothermal vents. Their muscles help with the left to right swimming movement, but they can only slightly move their tails up or down. Their porous skin reacts quickly to temperature changes and changes color and/or saturation depending on health.
Fairaters have a reminisce of nostrils but have evolved to breathe through their four feather-like external gills. Their tongues are thick and fixed upon the bottom of their mouths while their soft teeth are mainly used to just grip and swallow their food. They are omnivores that eat natural vegetation, shrimp, bacterial mats, and small worms along the sea floor. The four squared, clawless fingers aid in walking along the seafloor and gripping onto rocks.
