In Japan, recently I heard that The Tale of Genji will be on TV drama again in 2024 (NHK).

It made me to look back this famous fiction again. The Tale of Genji 源氏物語 is a classic work of Japanese literature written in the early 11th century (Heian period). It is also thought to be the earliest long fiction in human history.

To show my respect to this great master piece, I made an ink painting for the main character. He is named Hikaru Genji 光源氏, well said as a super handsome man with a very "complicated" life. I slightly researched on sorts of materials to find out how he really looks. Finally I got an image in my mind. 

Though the character in my painting is not that handsome, it almost shows exactly my impression to him.
