The issue of mental health is a health problem that is currently attracting the world's attention, WHO explains that depression and anxiety are mental health problems with the highest prevalence in Indonesia. The causes of these disorders can be caused by a person's inability to manage stress and depression. Handling stress and depression can be done by healing efforts through the practice of meditation, because basically human health needs to be viewed holistically, where there are connections between physical, mental and spiritual elements that have relevance to one another.
The Architectural Semiotics Pragmatic approach is applied through physical (tangible) and non-physical (in-tangible) simulations which can be stimulated through the sensory aspects, perceptions, feelings and emotions of the users. The application of spatial transitions/sequences focuses on creating a conducive environment for contemplation. Spatial formed at the Meditation Training Center is expected to create calm & peace for its users which aims to provide a deep holistic experience that can improve one's mental well-being.
The World has become too complex, pulling our attention in multiple directions at all times. The Contemplation Center is a refuge from overstimulation, it is a place to unplug, focus, and find peace. Therefore, it is necessary to have a place that can at least help healing by presenting a meditation room (tranquillity in the middle of the city).
There is no single way to meditate. Some meditate with a soft focus on their environtment; some, with tight focus on a particular object. Some meditate by focusing out to the world; some, by focusing on the self. Some focus in sounds; some on silence. The Contemplation Centre provides a variety of spaces and stimuli to guests to help them connect to the physical and metaphysical.
