CHEESE!

Since I've leaned more and more into digital painting as I've gotten older, I noticed a significant drop-off in how much I was drawing with pencil and paper. I found that I missed it, so I baked it into my painting process (at least for now)! I've started by sketching the piece in my sketchbook and snapping a photo of it with my iPhone. I prefer this to scanning it, because I enjoy the little particles of texture and grain that taking a photo of the actual page provides. I'm constantly playing with texture, so that felt like an easy way to achieve it, authentically, from the start.
I take the photo into Photoshop and change the color to something more akin to an "underpainting" palette, and I proceed from there!
