Riyadh Metro
Here is the first of my isometric takes on the network map of the metro system currently under construction in the KSA capital, Riyadh
As quite a tour de force, six lines are being built all at the once from the ground up since construction officially started in 2014
The network, which consists in 85 brand new stations linked together by 176km (109mi) of equally fresh tracks across the city, is slated to open to public as soon as 2023
The idea of going isometric with that map crossed my mind almost immediately as I saw the network layout, all structured along a pretty regular street grid
In this first version, I didn't follow through with the isometric logic so as to make the text labels also stick to the isometric plane but that is exactly what the next installment of this two-parter will show in an upcoming project
