THEYYAM the human gods II

Theyyam or Theyyatam is a crusading ritual art performed in the Malabar region (Kolathunaad ) i.e. in North Kerala.  This devotional dance  gains resurgence  mainly  in Kannur and Kasargod Districts.  The word Theyyam   derives the name from Deyvam meaning "GOD" and Attam meaning "DANCE".   Theyyam is also known as Kaliyattam  A unique dance performance which holds traditional caucus style  still in this modern era.  One can see the  effulgence  costumes , eloquent display of skills performed by the artists and the opulence  of  religious worship  ,and the combination of dance and music in Theyyam performance.
