Bouma: an award winning short film that was completely shot in one room built by my team with elements that would convey the Bengali location and the lower-middle class demographic of the scene.
The four-poster Bengali style bed was the most time-consuming prop on the set, in terms of construction. The film is about three ladies of a family, each a different generation having a conversation about their lives.
The daughter is curious about marriage and love. Her mother and grandmother shatters all her hopes of having a happy marriage. They discuss about the backward Indian society. The grandmother is rebellious and smokes hookah when the men are away for work.
