Jon Bailes - Ideology and the Virtual city
During the 2022 summer semester, the TFF ateliér has been assigned with designing and printing out a small batch of a Czech translated version of Jon Bailes book: Ideology and the Virtual city. It was a class assignment, where everyone submitted their own individual design. The task was to come with the concept, the cover design and layout.
My submission featured high resolution photo scanned images of digital media carriers, placed on a small format. The intention was to make a small, compact, in-your-pocket product that is nicely proportional to it's weight and density. Also, my sentiment was: as books tend to have larger format (compared to this one), a smaller booklet would have this "cutesy" and novel appearance, which I think fits the contents of the book as well.
Little extra obscure addition to the assignment - concept for a limited collectors edition release, which would include a decorative piece: 6 CD's encased in a buffed epoxy slab, supported by two light-wooden pieces.
