Photographing the cityscape from the rooftops, I’m trying to portray life from a different level of the city. Cities are invisible yet encircle us and contain us. They are locations of fleeting memory and desire; they are forever “frozen” in memory and literature. What I’m trying to do with the shots from above, is to transform the city into color tones and bright signs, in unseen cities of memory. The quiet melodramatic movements of people and the handling of light on their bodies, suggests a supernatural sense of nature’s grandeur,  that causes conflicting sensations. Each image was created to represent its own separate, individual, unrealistic reality, transforming a female figure as the only protagonist in her personal landscape. What makes a photograph magical is when, only through its presence, it overcomes the immediate context leading us to the unseen.
