Poverty, Inc. is an upcoming documentary from PovertyCure and Action Media.

 

This was a proposed design/initial concept for the poster and marketing materials.  If this design was chosen, I would have exchanged the bear trap illustration with an actual image.  But this is what I came up with.

 

The idea behind the poster and the film is that our culture exploits poverty for profit, and even good intentions for foreign aid and non-profits can eventually have disastrous consequences.  This is summed up by Bill Clinton's quote, "We made a devil's bargain." This refers to his culpability in destroying Haiti's ability to grow rice by forcing them to not charge import taxes on US rice.
