This project was developed in concept stage in 2008 and proposed the construction of an island that would protect the margin from the Haihe river floods. ______________________________________________________
The following images are updates of the exploration done, at the time.
The concept was to have a naturalised island overlapped by a series of platforms. The intention was to reconcile human use with natural fauna and flora.
The series of platforms are inspired by over-water fishing villages and ports
Between margin and island there would be opportunity for ludic and commercial activities
The trees planted in the island bellow make a connection with the human use at the top of the platform
