My project focused on an imaginary brand, Lemp Homebrewing. The objective was to capture the essence of the brand’s unique history and create a visual identity that embodies its spirit. I drew inspiration from the story of Adam Lemp, a German immigrant who introduced lagers to the American beer market, and his use of underground Missouri caves to brew beer. The caves were a significant aspect of the brand’s history, and I wanted to showcase their importance.
Developed and printed a brand guidelines booklet to communicate the brand story and visuals in order to maintain consistency across all channels.
The Lemp Homebrewing logo features a shield with the brand name and an illustration of the stalagmites and stalactites of the Cherokee Caves. The shield symbolizes strength and protection, while the cave illustration highlights the brand’s unique history and sets it apart from other craft breweries.
The labels are designed for the different types of beer a customer could make at Lemp Homebrewing. The labels were created to be customized to ingredients and an individual’s name by focusing on typography and the color palette.
Designed beer bottle labels, a six-pack beer carrier, and coasters to enhance the brewing experience at Lemp Homebrewing.
The six-pack beer holder packaging is designed to be both functional and visually appealing, allowing space for six standard 12 oz beer bottles.
The main colors are inspired by the natural colors found in Missouri caves, with earthy browns that create a sense of warmth and authenticity. I combined that palette with shades of gold to create a vintage and timeless look which references the color of a gold lager and storage barrels for beer.
