Eliot LeBow was born on September 18th, 1971. He is a surreal abstractionist with an international following. In the past 17 years, LeBow's work has been seen in American gallery exhibits in Soho, New York City; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Long Island, New York; Los Angeles, California; The Schacknow Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and more recently various galleries in Maryland. His work has also been seen abroad in shows in Tokyo, Germany, France, Slovenia, and Canada. Permanent collections include Frostburg State University, The Transcendental Art Counsel and The Schacknow Museum.

Originally from the Washington, DC area, LeBow showed signs of artistic talent at a very young age. 'When I was five or six years old and my parents gave me coloring books. “I threw them away and drew angular shapes on blank paper and color them in.' The six-year-old budding artist was already incorporating perspective into his drawings. At age 11, he was accepted to the highly regarded Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C., and his formal art training began. He studied at Corcoran School of Art through his high school graduation. Through a special Advanced Placement High School scholarship, LeBow during his junior year of high school attended a summer semester at The Rhode Island School of Design in Providence where he concentrated on painting and illustration. At Frostburg State University, LeBow majored in painting and art history. In 1994 he obtained his Bachelors of Fine Art and Moved to New York City.
“My artistic technique and style (Hard-edge, surreal abstractionism) was born from the sketches I drew, of angular shapes on blank paper, I created as a child. As I got older, I started adding the elements of nature in the form of clouds, water, sand, sunsets, and sunrises; to reflect some of the happiest memories I had growing up. Every weekend my family and I would spend the weekends at the beach. Some mornings I would wake up early and watch the sunrise and on special occasions me, my mom and dad would stay on the beach till sunset with our friends. Now 20 years later I am still painting surreal abstractions, looking forward to the next sunrise or sunsets that inspire me.”
