Say Cheese - Photographic Poster
Collaborating with RMIT photography student Alice Hutchinson I developed the concept of the image and styled it. The subject matter is an exploration of the versatile form of cheese. The image intends to convey the idea that cheese can be both expensive and coveted yet also cheap and mass-produced. I appropriated a statement from Barbara Krugers work ‘We are not what we seem’ to bluntly verbalize the context of the image- that the delectable cheeses can be easily manipulated to pose as cheap, mass-produced cheese, questioning the amount of value we place on the variety of cheeses.
The hypothetical purpose of my final image is to be exhibited as apart of a series in the Heide Museum of Modern Art.
