Rosemary. Not only a rich and flavorful herb, but also a female name. I used this dual meaning as the starting point of re-branding the rosemary herb for a class project.

 

The rosemary herb has many myths and legends in its name.

I wanted there to be a physical presence of the herb as part of representations of the myths.  I knew I would have to compose these in such a way that the subject would be clearly conveyed without the use of many details. Therefore, I applied a stencil methodology used in graffiti. First, I sketched out the desired area of each face mimicking a stencil aesthetic, then I glued the rosemary onto the paper.
