RUBBER MODEL OF THE BANK OF SCOTLAND

RUBBER MODEL OF THE BANK OF SCOTLAND
I worked in conjunction with Gray Concrete (www.grayconcrete.co.uk) in Edinburgh, during one month in 2006.

I assisted in making a big rubber model of the Bank of Scotland Building in Edinburgh. This model had to be a jigsaw puzzle and children should be able to play with it. The model was exhibited for six months in the hall of the same building.

We first built a wooden and plastic model. Once finished we made a silicone mould. We waited until it was dry and after that we filled it with a fluid chemical product which reacted and changed into rubber. All the facades and small pieces were cast and made into rubber.

The model had two colors, purple for the original building and white for an old extension.
