First Nations Role Model Program (FNEII)

Mission Statement
The mission of the FNEII Role Model Program  is to locate members within First Nations communities who demonstrate admirable traits in which someone would look up to. We recognize a role model as a person who remains positive, determined, morally sound, innovative, and a leader to those around them.

Purpose
From 12 First Nation communities within the province of New Brunswick FNEII accepts the names of community members who exhibit leadership, kindness, knowledge, honesty, and determination. By having these qualities, those nominated are shown to have influenced others in a positive way and we are proud to recognize and share their stories.

Process
As people are nominated and names are sent in, the interview process begins. After am interview asking questions which refer to problem solving, views on education and culture, as well as the qualities they believe constitutes a role model, a picture of the role model is taken. The end result consultation with the nominee/role model will be a 150 word write up and picture put together to create a poster to be showcased in the community  as well as online.
