Operation Underground Railroad - Ad Campaign Posters

Operation Underground Railroad - Ad Campaign Posters
For this project, I chose to create a campaign poster set for Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) and the work they do to fight human trafficking around the world.

Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) exists to rescue children from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. They lead the fight against child sex trafficking and sexual exploitation around the globe. Their work has no boundaries- they go to the darkest corners of the world to assist law enforcement in rescuing children and ensure ongoing aftercare. They provide critical resources to law enforcement and preventative efforts that benefit at-risk children worldwide.

Project Specifications:

- The print ad poster must be 11 x 17 inches (portrait orientation).
- This is a campaign or series of three. Each poster should be distinct from the other, yet similar enough to be an obvious set when side by side.
- Posters must have a headline, tagline and/or secondary headline, logo, and URL as part of a call to action.
- Include the Ad Council logo to show the work in conjunction with OUR.

Poster 1: I chose yellow as the main contrasting color since that is OUR's most distinctive color used in most of its campaigns. I used Illustrator to create the yellow shape, and added text and the organization logo.
Poster 2: I used Photoshop to crop and edit a picture of a child. I imported it to Illustrator and added it to a textured background, which symbolizes a prison or a place where people are deprived from their freedom. As the main text, I wanted to emphasize that children are not for sale, so I wrote it in yellow blocks, and used the Pathfinder tool to make the text transparent, so that some of the features of the child could be still be seen.
Poster 3: Similarly to poster 1, I used Illustrator to highlight the call to action to save the children by donating or sharing this campaign. I made sure to use picture of children to raise awareness that they are the principal victims of the human trafficking worldwide issue. The headline: What if this was your child? was used in the three posters to create unity, but most importantly to help parents and adults understand that this could happen to them as well.
