A temporary art installation involving two video's and a melting ice-object.
The video 'Move / Deconstruct II', in the small room ( left) is build up of somehow surrealistic images based upon photographs of the deconstruction of the installation 'Move' ( 2013).
The other video ( 'Move / Deconstruct I') is situated at the entrance and shows the deconstruction of 'Move'.
This installation conceirns a construction of two washracks, red clothes and tempera ( pigment 'red earth').
The tempera visualises the moving of the construction. Wet paint flows out towards the lowest point of the space.
Dried up it leaves a visible gesture on the floor.
First the pigment was carefully removed by scraping it off the floor.
The rest was mopped off in six washings. The water was frozen and numbered in six buckets, one liter each.
During 'Nadir' two of these ice objects hung at the ceiling, thawing, again, in search for the lowest point...
'Nadir' was part of the exhibition 'By the sweat of your brow', curator Frans van Lent, during the 'Urban Explorers Festival' in Dordrecht, june 2014.
