ABOUT
The sports center in Irpin is a multifunctional complex with an area of more than 7.5 thousand square meters, which combines a variety of sports, with public and commercial functions. Our task was to design a space that would become a place for meetings and formation of new social ties.
LOCATION
The sports center lot is located in the city of Irpin, which received the honorary title "Hero City of Ukraine" by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. Irpen's architectural landscape embodies its rich heritage and the diverse cultural influences it has undergone over time. Due to its favorable location in the recreational zone and excellent transport links with the capital, Irpin has developed rapidly in recent years, while maintaining a high level of improvement. The city is acclaimed for its numerous modern parks and squares, interesting landscape solutions, a united community.
CONCEPT
The main idea of the project was an attempt to rethink traditional Ukrainian architecture, primarily buildings with pitched roofs, which can always be found in every city in the country. Since the near environment is formed by residential buildings with such roofs, it was decided to borrow them from the project and form an expressive architectural image with their help. The center slopes are created by taking into account the angle of the most favorable for placing solar panels. Now more than 500 panels have been designed that makes the building energy efficient.
The building is disctinctly divided into such functional areas: sports, administrative, medical, educational, commercial. The sports part includes halls for acrobatics and gymnastics, ball games, a gym, multifunctional spaces for dancing, yoga, rehabilitation, etc. The main purpose of zoning the complex was to create a safe, functional and pleasant environment for all users.
