Concept:
Father once offered to listen to the melodies of his era, and the daughter thought, what's this new delight? She took the earphones and started listening to the infamous, 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston. Not even a minute later, her tears came rushing down her cheeks. That is what music does to you. With or without lyrics, melody falls to your heart and obeys you. It's your perception and how you create it. It's you.
What we listen to today is an adaptation of songs or genres of the 80s and 90s. Super artists came forth and gave us blockbusters: these women, namely Madonna, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and many more. The number is extravagant.
This book is about honouring these outstanding ladies who struggled through and gave dominion to youthful girls. It's an insight into the lives of these women. It's an honour to have lived at the same time as them.
Illustrations:
The illustration style used in all the portraits is the Style of Gradation. I have worked with transparency throughout. The colour scheme is various transformations of purple and shades, tints, and tones of yellow and brown. I adapted this style of illustration over a long period, and with a new piece, every time, it learns to be itself in a new way.
