Within the past few years, Five Guys Burgers & Fries restaurants have popped up everywhere around the country. Monument Restaurants is a franchise that owned hundreds of Five Guys restaurants in several states. They needed an employee handbook to give to their managers at training to tell a little history of Five Guys and the Monument Restaurants’ franchise, their philosophy, and the managers’ benefits.
Due to this project having a very low budget, I only used red and black ink to help cut down on printing costs. I relied on the most recognizable components of the Five Guys: the simplicity of the checkered pattern and clean white space. I also turned the photos given to me into monotone hues of red to symbolically show that Five Guys isn’t just about a burger but is built upon it’s employees dedication to a quality customer experience.
