Beyond the frontiers, design for a new nomadic life is my thesis project. It was developed by Curate award contest’s proposal, that searched a curatorial idea socially and contemporary relevant. The theme I’ve chosen is the neo-nomadism and how design can improve this new lifestyle. Divided into four sections corresponding to the newnomad’s reasons to make a trip of his life, the idea of the staging has become a catalogue, the most nomad type of exhibit. Its design clearly identify the division into two parts: the one of the essays, and the one with the sections and the objects’ selection. Every section has its own colour and five coloured inserts smaller than the total width of the page, in which is presented the description of the objects. A curatorial-editorial project to encorauge a change in the society.
Beyond the frontiers, design for a new nomadic life è il mio progetto di tesi magistrale. La scintilla di partenza è scaturita dal concorso Curate award, che proponeva di sviluppare un’idea curatoriale socialmente rilevante e contemporanea. Il tema che ho scelto è quello del neo–nomadismo, e di come il design può favorire questo nuovo stile di vita. Selezionati gli oggetti, la mostra è stata suddivisa in quattro categorie corrispondenti alle ragioni che portano il nuovo nomade a spostarsi. L’allestimento si è concretizzato attraverso la progettazione editoriale e grafica di un catalogo, il tipo di mostra più “nomade” possibile. La grafica ne identifica chiaramente la divisione in due parti principali: quella dei saggi, e quella delle quattro sezioni dell’esposizione. Ciascuna di esse è contraddistinta da un colore particolare e da cinque bandelle della stessa tonalità, in cui si trova la descrizione degli oggetti esposti. Un progetto curatoriale–editoriale per un design che risponda ai nuovi problemi della società.
