Shoseki Kurekuta is a logo built for the (fictional) Brand that supplies Manga and Anime. A book store for the Japanese lovers of the world, based in Sydney. The Brands store will provide volumes of manga, comics, and the DVD’s of anime, including those from the famous Miyasaki (the creator of Studio Ghibli). The logo fulfils the aesthetic and culture of Japan, with the shapes, colours and font. By having the centre colour red, it will culturally represent the flag of Japan, with its red circle in the centre. The Kanji character “hon” also represents the origination of Manga; how even though it has been introduced into the Western world and translated to English, it was first created in Japan.
