Starter’s Kit – Dry Point

Concept design for Starters Kit for Dry Point
University assingment in Graphic Design / Visual communications

Motivation for this assignment was wanting to introduce Dry point technique, one of the traditional intaglio print making techniques, to everyday people who were not profesionally trained to know how to create art in an old-school traditional Art technique. Print-making is still very obscure to the person who is only familiar with fine arts and with this Starter's Kit, the ever-obscure technique would be introduced to the curious person in a very beginner friendly manner, with all necessary tools and materials that are just enough to create one piece of Art for a very easy start. The zine inside should give an idea how an art piece in Dry Point is made, since it was also made in the same technique and showing the step by step process, with the expansion also written on the package that could be neatly undone and read carefully if the person wishes to be sure in their process. Each step is numbered and explained, and after the first work is completed, the person is encouraged to explore on their own with all kinds of creative D.I.Y. ideas.
