Qi-Time is a faux brand name that I came up with for the purpose of this project. This name was thought up due to the similar sound between the word Qi, pronounced as “chi”, and tea. With Lolita being the base source of inspiration for this faux brand,

Lolita is an alternative style, or street fashion, that focuses around an elegant doll like look. Lolita, as a fashion, started appearing in the 1980’s in Japan and began gaining more of its popularity during the 1990’s.

I am focusing on the sub-style, of Qi-Lolita in order to create and theme this work. Qi-Lolita is a sub-style focusing on mixing Chinese elements with Victorian and Rococo styles into one form. Often this look is fairly challenging to pull of as it has a tendency to have a more costume like aesthetic as apposed to fashion. Nonetheless Qi-Lolita is slowly becoming more developed as more people take interest in this particular sub-style.

All dresses were created from scratch. Everything from print, to assembling the garments were created entirely by me, with assisntance in dress design by my sister.
