    A barnacle bird house inspired by the legendary work of Santiago Calatrava. Like Calatrava, I took a part of nature, distilled it into simple geometric forms and placed it in an unfamiliar environment. He was also famous for using human metrics to create the proportions of his buildings to create a connection between the buildings and its inhabitants. Since my house was intended to house birds, not humans, I decided to take inspiration from them instead. You can see that as my geometric barnacles twist, that the lines created are a subtle homage to the shape of bird wings in flight. Read Less

Like Calatrava, I took a part of nature, distilled it into simple geometric forms and placed it in an unfamiliar environment. He was also famous for using human metrics to create the proportions of his buildings to create a connection between the buildings and its inhabitants.

Since my house was intended to house birds, not humans, I decided to take inspiration from them instead. You can see that as my geometric barnacles twist, that the lines created are a subtle homage to the shape of bird wings in flight.
