The idea:

Tackling climate change by feeding food waste to cows

The outline of the idea:

We were given a brief to come up with an idea that would change peoples habits and attitudes contributing to climate change. The main focus was tackling the amount of food waste we throw away in our household on a daily basis. This is when we invented 'feed'. Feed is a service which gives people an incentive to recycle their food waste with this service rather than sending it to landfill.

When signing up to Feed you receive a loyalty card. This enables you to sign up on our website with your name, address and the type of milk you want to receive in exchange of the food waste you provide. Here you are also given an option to send your milk to charities, schools and nurseries if you are a person that doesn't drink or require milk. You fill your food waste bin, we collect it, and depending on the weight you receive a certain amount of loyalty card points, we then feed this waste food to cows. You can log in and exchange your loyalty card points for the milk of your choice. The cycle then starts again.
