INJOZI
Self-Promotion
INJOZI was tasked with creating a self-promotional flash based website, showcasing the multi-faceted strengths of the collective as a whole. These aspects included Photography, Digital Design, Print design & Audio. With the rare luxury of having carte-blanche with regards to a brief, INJOZI chose to incorporate a theme that would best showcase the creative facets that make up the company. The end result being a haunting 1920’s carnival scenario. Staff members were individually styled into accompanying characters, which included a human cannonball, sword swallower, and siamese twins, to name a few. The user interface was carefully planned to engage the user by making it as interactive as possible. The idea was to give the user a multi-layered platform in which to explore, devices such as business networking, portfolio showcases and an overview of individual staff members and their individual talents. The theme served as a 1st tier, and was accompanied by the layering of portfolio pieces each pertaining to the individual sections. Here is a breakdown of how the site operates.

The user can navigate by staff member allowing them to see what role that person plays in the collective by viewing their business card. This device is continued through into the business networking aspect of the site.

2) By clicking on the “carnivalise yourself” tab, the user will be prompted to either upload a photo from their computer, or alternatively use a webcam to photograph themselves. Next, a choice of carnivalesque props are available for the user to customise their portrait. These elements can be fine tuned to suit the portrait. Upon completion, the user will have the opportunity to select various options, such as - “Post to website”, or “Post to Facebook” etc... If the user has chosen to “Post to website”, they will be asked to submit their business information This will create a .personal business card for the user, which will in turn, be displayed in the “Freakshow” section of the website.

The “Freakshow” forms a business database of contacts who have carnivalised themselves. Allowing users access to like minded individuals which include, stylists, illustrators, designers etc... The following portfolio sections are also available for the user as a standard portfolio showcase. These are- Photography Digital design Print design and audio. As a whole, the website encompasses all that facets the collective specialises in. The concept, visuals, and functionality were tied together as one by a haunting audio track completing the companies capabilities. The project exceeded all expectations and continues to generate hits worldwide. The page has had over 14 500 hits since July 2010, and has won and received favorable mentions from reputable online sources
