The games we play as children arerehearsals for the roles we play inlife. Traditional toys for girls nurturehomemaker stereotypes, simulatingtraditional domestic roles through play.In these photographs, I am exploring thepossibility of the same staging takingplace with the prolific, but publiclyhidden occupation of prostitution. Byconstructing these scenes in miniature,I project representations of the sexindustry onto the medium of theconventional doll house. As polaropposites, the homemaker and the sexworker are highly constructed andrestrictive roles, the mostdeeply-rooted myths of the feminine.

Recreated from many sources ofrepresentation these constructed spacescan be peered-into and examined.
