What are vouchers and coupons?
Vouchers are meant to give your customers one-time discounts (for given amount or based on a percentage of the total amount). Coupons can be based on a code or can be applied to given email address whereas vouchers always have a voucher code associated with them.
What is the difference between a voucher and a gift card?
A gift card is a prepaid stored-value money card usually issued by a retailer or bank to be used as an alternative to cash for purchases within a particular store or related businesses. Voucher is a small printed piece of paper that entitles the holder to a discount, or that may be exchanged for goods or services.
How does a gift certificate work?
A Gift Certificate Product is an item that can be bought in your store for a specified dollar amount. During purchase, a special code is created on the store which acts as a credit on the store for the dollar amount/face value of the purchased gift certificate.
How does the gift card work?
Once the card is approved, it is produced and mailed to the intended recipient. The recipient will activate the card, typically either by phone or online. Then, they can begin to spend the card's balance. Whenever the card is swiped, the processor confirms the card has a high enough balance to cover the transaction.
