Almeena is a PORT COMPLEX that fully utilizes Rashid’s natural and human resources and provides a comprehensive support and contribution in the city’s economy by Stimulating the development of the FISHING INDUSTRY in Beheira governorate.
Project's Contextual Layout
The project site is located in Burj Rashid village, north of the city of Rashid, at a distance of 3.5 km from the city borders. The land overlooks the Nile and is located next to Qaytbay Castle in Rashid, also it is approximate to new Rashid city and the Mediterranean Sea, and is connected to Rashid & New Rashid by Albahr Al-Aazam RD.
Concept: Repurposing shipping containers to create a sustainable and innovative design that transforms these sturdy structures into functional working spaces.
Order inspired by The repeated pattern formed by fish farms in context.
Containers are designed to bear loads on their corner posts, which make it easy to apply different facade treatments by disassembling side panels
