For this project, I set out to make an all-purpose sneaker using one material: vegetable tanned leather. This leather’s defining characteristic is the change in appearance as it ages and is worn in. Because of this, I went with a simple and minimalistic design to put the most attention on the material. 

Pictured above is the first "pull over" or prototype I made to test my idea. Aside from a few adjustments, the first sample was very close to the final pair in terms of design and construction.
