Growing up my parents always taught me these lines from the Bhagwat Gita "Karm kar fal ki chinta mat kar" which means do the work without expecting anything in return, because your job is to do the work and the universe will give you its rewards. As a kid I questioned this idea and I remember in return they told me you will understand it only when you implement and experience it. I never forgot these lines but it was not everyday I thought about it until I heard these lines "Your work is a GIFT" by James Victore. I have constantly been inspired by James Victore's work and messages and they have always inspired me to do honest work and to have a voice and opinion.
And this message reinforces the idea and really encourages me to believe in doing work that makes me happy deep down. This one minute message has changed my life and the way I look at life and design. So, when I had to design a kinetic typography piece in my motion design class I chose to go with this message and while working on it over and over to make this piece happen I realized that this has now become my Design Mantra.
