The Black Snake Murder (graphic props)

This was an extended project loosely based on Ryan O’Neill’s ‘Golden Age Detective Novel’ interpretation of The Drover’s Wife.
The extract was only two lines long. I wanted to solve the murder so I created a conspiracy wall to help form connections between the suspects, places and objects. All the connections were meticulously thought out and reference the original text. I then designed a folder, envelope, and FBI styled pages to package the findings and evidence. Each page of the report refers back to one connection (there were 7 altogether - represented by the red string) and were tea stained to have an aged effect.
Photography was all by me as I had a specific mood and atmosphere I wanted to convey.
I really enjoyed this project because it combines my love for research, recreating period graphics and hand crafting. I wouldn't mind doing more graphic props (for film/tv?) in the future!
