The following project was done for a course at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Global Communications Corp is a fictitious business.
 
The Situation
 
Global Communications Corp is a major canadian media company with stakes in publishing, television, radio, and more. The company has identified the opportunity to expand it’s reach in it’s radio operations. As a result, the position 88.9 fm has been acquired on the radio spectrum to implement a unique station in Vancouver, BC.
 
The Solution
 
From its people, its food, its events and its sounds, Vancouver undoubtedly embraces cultural diversity. With this growing trend in the city, there is an opportunity to deliver a lifestyle radio station built around one of the many vibrant cultures that make up the city's landscape. 
 
Introducing Tal 88.9 fm. India Inspired radio. 
 
Tal 88.9 fm offers music, lifestyle, and cultural programing inspired by the mysterious, playful, and exotic India. Tal, the hindi word for rhythm, has a visual identity that embodies those characteristics through typography, colour, and voice.
 
Tal is  a lifestyle station with a primary market of female urban professionals in the age range of 22 - 45. These are people who have a mature yet experiential outlook on life who are often looking to expand their cultural breadth.
 
 
Print Brochure for Advertisers and Sponsors

A large part of Tal's implementation strategy revolves around generating on-air advertising sales from Canadian companies. A multipage "guide for advertisers" brochure was created to summarize some of the key points regarding the station's listenership and audience reach. This brochure would be a leave behind deliverable after sales meetings.
 
 
Talradio.ca
 
Apart from the station itself, Tal's website would be one of the primary extensions of the user experience. With the ability for users to relisten to their favourite programs, save playlists, and even watch exclusive web video content such as cooking segments and yoga videos, talradio.ca helps elevate the level of immersion into Tal's content. 
 
 
Consumer Advertising
 
To introduce the brand, a series of business to consumer ads were designed around the marketing message, “life is more exciting when it’s a little exotic.” These copy driven ads are able to communicate the brand’s voice and USP through playful dialogue.
