Since the fall of communism, the grievances, historical taboos and personal stories that have been suppressed have had a profound impact on our view of the past and our thinking about the future. Every piece of information and symbol that enters our consciousness shapes our own historical image. Even if we were not present at the time, a completely individual perspective is born. My work on the collective memory of socialism was inspired by my grandfather's recollections and the realization that as many houses as there are different stories associated with the same events. My series attempts to create a new kind of experience through the interpretation of fictional historical scenes...

During my research on the memory of socialism, I aimed to create fictitious images inspired by my grandfather's memoirs and the historical picture of myself. Since the change of regime, buried grievances, historical taboos and personal stories have greatly influence our image of the past and our thinking about the future. From all information and symbols that are integrated into our imagination, we create our own image. Even if we were not present at that age, a whole new individual aspect is born.
While taking the pictures, I tried to uncertain the recipient about the authenticity of the photos and to spend time with the interpretation. To achieve this, I have done many experiments with different archaic solutions such as noisy and obscure. My goal was to move on the verge of reality and fiction, sometimes tipping one way or another. Since the images are relatively free to interpret, while interpreting photographs, the viewer is probably instinctively influenced by his own historical memory.

The subject of my study is the historical memory of Hungarian socialism. I also examine the characteristics of this topic during my thesis research. When we look back at the past, we will inadvertently remember the events of history and philosophical ideas set up in history. In contrast, collective memory is present as a folklore of tradition and spreads to mouth. From all information and symbols that are integrated into our imagination, we create our own image. Even if we were not present at that age, a whole new individual aspect is born. The aim of the series of photos is to make the recipient for thinking and communication about the memory of socialism. This also helps to break the taboos and to raise the concept of collective memory.
